Question: According to a recent poll, the average parent thinks 12 is the perfect age for this. What is it?

Answer: Getting their own cell phone!

It’s amazing how cellphones have come to improve our lives beyond just communication. So many tools have become part of our phones. Our cameras, calculators, compass, maps, clock, calendar, not to mention the power of the worldwide web.
At the same time, we all know people for whom a mobile device has become a problem. Phones pull them away from true relationships and intimacy with other people. They become addicted to social media, games, streaming, and other more painful things through their phones.

Whether you’re a tween, a teenager, or adult, phones can be a wonderful tool and helpful stewardship, or something that begins to control us or we use in unhelpful, even damaging ways. The same can be said of so many good things the Lord has given us. Good things become ultimate things, and get in the way of our thriving in Christ. Today we have the privilege of hearing from our good friend Scott Kingry, from our ministry partner Where Grace Abounds. Scott brings us a talk on this very subject, from the heart of God to ours titled “What Sexuality has to do with Our Thriving.”
