Question: The average person has about six of these in their life. What is it?
Answer: People who will tell them the truth!
If you think about it, how many people do you have in your life who will tell you the truth, even if it might sting a bit? A better question might be, do you listen to those people when they do speak up?
When we have trusted people in our lives who will tell us the truth, and we take their thoughts seriously, it can really help us stay out of trouble, correct harmful behaviors, keep us humble and teachable, and help us hear the voice of God, unlike the writer of Daniel chapter 4 who was given some really helpful advice and ignored it.
Today a trusted friend of Celebration, pastor Jim Emig, continues our series on Living in Exile. He’s bring us a word from the heart of God to ours, focusing on the events of Daniel chapter 4 in a sermon called “Three Truths.”
