Question: 56% of people in a survey say this “does not exist” on vacation. What is it?
Answer: Their budgets!
While it might be fun to get much needed rest or fun by ignoring our household budgets for a while when on vacation, if we aren’t careful we can get in big trouble. That can lead to significant debt and missing payments on common household bills.
Whenever we find ourselves in a sticky situation, we often ask ourselves the question “How did I get here?” It usually starts with a need or desire that’s legitimate. Then we decided to meet that need or desire with unhelpful strategies (that at the time seemed like a good idea), leaving us in a real pickle.
In a very real way, this is how sin has taken hold of our world and caused all the damage we experience on any given day. How did this happen, and what is God’s response? That’s the subject of today’s sermon. While pastor Jill is at the women’s retreat this weekend, pastor Wes is bringing us a message called “How Did We Get in This Pickle, and How Do We Get Out? (OR Sin: What Is It, and What Do We Do About It?)”
