Question: A recent survey shows that 5% of us are deathly afraid of this animal. What is it?
Answer: Birds!
Are you afraid of birds? While only 5% of the population might be afraid of birds, there’s probably a greater percentage of the population that’s afraid of silence and solitude, even though studies show that it’s good for our body, mind, and soul. In fact, scripture shows us that creating space to simply be with our Savior in silence and solitude is ultimately for our joy! Some of Jesus’ last words to His followers were a call to abide, rest with and in Him. That’s the subject of today’s sermon, the last in our Summer Slowdown Series.
