Question: By the time they turn 28, the average American will have done this 6 times. What is it?
Answer: Change jobs!
Person 1: I recently got out of a toxic work environment.
Person 2: Really, how's it going now?
Person 1: Good! I got a job in astronomy, and my whole career is looking up.
Person 2: You know, I recently applied for a job in Australia but I didn't get hired.
Person 1: Why is that?
Person 2: Because I didn’t have the right Koala-fications.
Seriously though... Have you changed jobs at least 6 times? The road to our vocation can be a long and circuitous one. So many life circumstances impact where we might find ourselves.
The same can be said of our walk with God. The journey of faith is not a straight line. Often it can feel like going in circles. If you've ever felt that way, God's people throughout the centuries can empathize, like the Israelites in our passage today. Pastor Jill picks up where we left off in our sermon series "A Story of Deliverance." Today's sermon from Exodus 13 and 14 is called "Following God Guarantees An Unpredictable Journey."
