Question: Scientists discovered this is the fastest thing the human body can do. What is it?
Answer: Snapping your fingers!
Person 1: Wait a minute, how did they determine that? Did they do much research?
Person 2: I don't think so. It was a snap decision!
Seriously though, snapping may seem like no big deal, but it's impressively fast. The research shows that a snap takes only 7 milliseconds, compared to the blink of an eye at a leisurely 150 milliseconds. I guess that's why we say that something is a "snap" if it's easy to do.
Wouldn't it be nice if repairing relationships went that quickly? Or healing hurts we've caused or received would happen that fast?
While it isn't easy or quick, our Heavenly Father, through Jesus Christ, has come to help us in the process. He knows the pain of broken relationships with His own children and made a way for reconciliation to happen by sending Jesus to pave the way. When we allow Him to enter into our stories He makes healing possible. That's what we'll talk about today, in a message from Pastor Jill called "Your Story of Reconciliation."
