Question: According to a recent study, other than the Super Bowl, this single episode of a show is rated as the highest viewed television show ever to run. What is it?
Answer: M*A*S*H!
On Feb 28, 1983, 105,970,000 households watched the final episode of M*A*S*H. That's a lot of viewers!
Whether it's M*A*S*H, Friends, The Office, Good Times, Star Trek, The Cosby Show, Law & Order, Cheers, or others, all of these shows have one thing in common. They happen in the context of community. And according to the data, we all love to watch it happen.
The truth is though, we weren't made to sit on the sidelines and watch community happen. We were made and called to be part of it. That's what today's sermon is all about. Pastor Jill brings us a message called "Community: Because We're Better Together." It's the final message in our series "Church: On Purpose."
