Topic: How Your Behavior Betrays Your Beliefs Passage: Matthew 25:14–25:30

Here are five questions to ask your kid after school instead of “How was your day?”
1. How did you show kindness today?
2. Who did you sit with at lunch?
3. What made your teacher smile or frown?
4. What did you do that was creative?
5. What did you do that took courage?

Which of these is your favorite? Can you think of any others?

Here's the point: Don't get in a rut. In relationships, creativity keeps things fresh. This summer, we’ve been talking about creativity and how it takes courage. In the Parable of the Bags of Gold, we saw that two people took courageous action while another played it safe — and paid dearly.

This morning, Steve returns to that parable to call us to faithfulness over fear, and gutsy action over lame excuses. His message is called “Stop Kidding Yourself: How Your Behavior Betrays Your Beliefs.” It’s his final message in our summer series, “Created to Be Creative.”
