Question: When it comes to our childhood, over one third of adult men and women still have this childhood item and still use it. What is it and what do they do with it?
Answer: A stuffed animal, and they still cuddle it!
Dang! Linus had it right all along. If fact, British psychologist and pediatrician Donald Winnicott calls these fuzzy stuffed animals and soft baby blankets “Transitional Objects” because they provide comfort in times of change. So we’re not going to judge you. Life is stressful and we all need strength.
But this morning, we recommend another source of comfort — God himself. He speaks to us though His Word and helps us persevere in tough times. And here’s a bonus: God’s words to us as his children can often help us raise our own. This morning, Steve will speak about this in a sermon he calls “Three Notifications You Should Accept from God (And Declare to Your Kids),” part two in the series on perseverance.
