Question: 60 million boxes of this are sold every year. What is it?

Answer: Stuffing!

For many of us stuffing, mashed potatoes, or Mac and cheese are comfort foods. You might have certain foods on your list that speak comfort to you. Especially on these shorter days and longer nights many of us might turn to these foods to bring us comfort.

Another word for comfort in dark times is hope. Hope keeps us going when things get darkest, and over 2,000 years ago when things seemed darkest for God’s people, Jesus entered into this world to bring the light of Hope to all of us.

That’s the subject of our time together today. As we begin a new sermon series in the season of Advent which we’re calling “Light in the Darkness,” we focus today on the Hope that Jesus brings.
