At Celebration you will experience:
- A practical message from the Bible
- A learning environment kids love
- A time to reflect upon issues and relationships that really matter in your life – especially your relationship with God
Suppose you’re a visitor to Celebration. How can we help you feel more comfortable? Hopefully, you’ll feel comfortable right away, but most of us are a little bit hesitant in new situations.
At Celebration, you’re almost certain to feel comfortable with what you’re wearing, unless you attend in formal evening wear, because then you will be the only one in spats and suspenders. Actually, that’s more like vintage, formal evening wear.
We hope you’re comfortable with snacks, because whether you don’t take any or take a lot (and go back for seconds) there will be other people doing the same thing. We have some great folks who can’t complete a sentence until their third cup of coffee. You might feel awkward if you speak to one of them and they drink coffee instead of reply. Don’t feel bad, they make the rest of us feel awkward too.
During the time we worship in song, you don’t have to know the lyrics or even find the right page, the words are projected on screens at the front.
You might get a teensy bit nervous if the speaker has a question that he or she wants you to discuss in a group of perfect strangers. Don’t let that scare you – to them, you seem perfect too! And really, God knows all about each of us and He already loves you.
And during the sermon you shouldn’t feel uncomfortable unless you fall asleep. Then you might worry about making the speaker feel uncomfortable.
We usually have two Sunday morning services. The early service starts at 9:00 am and meets in the Chapel. It’s a more traditional service in a more traditional setting. People who attend that service regularly, celebrate Communion every Sunday. The later service starts at 10:45 am in Allen Hall. There, we have folding chairs instead of pews, more conversation while the worship team is leading the singing, and Communion once a month. We still have the same speaker though and their feelings might be really hurt if you fall asleep in both services. The second service typically runs a bit longer than the first.
What’s really cool is that sometimes, after second service, there’s lunch. We don’t all get everything we want every time, but there’s always food left over so feel welcome to stay and eat and meet a couple more people.
At the end of your visit, we hope that you feel like you have come home.
